Heating Pizza Pops

When preparing frozen pizza pops for customers, follow these steps to ensure safety and quality:

1. Personal Hygiene

• Wear disposable gloves when handling frozen pizza pops and change gloves if they become dirty or after handling money.

2. Preparing the Pizza Pops

• Only use clean, undamaged packages of frozen pizza pops. Do not serve if the packaging is torn or food appears spoiled.
• Remove the pizza pop from the packaging carefully, handling only the outer surface.
• Place the pizza pop on a clean, microwave-safe plate or paper towel.

3. Heating in the Microwave

• Remove: the pizza pop from its wrapper and place it on a microwaveable plate or paper towel.
• Heat: on high power for 1 minute.
• Flip: the pizza pop.
• Heat: again, on high power for 30 seconds.
• Use caution when removing the food from the microwave—contents may be very hot.
• Let stand: for 2 minutes to complete cooking. 

4. Serving to the Customer

• Handle the food only with gloves.
• Place the pizza pop in a take out sleeve before handing it to the customer.
• Provide an additional napkin

5. Cleanliness and Safety

• Wipe microwave and prep area regularly to prevent buildup of food residue.
• Discard any dropped or partially cooked pizza pops immediately.
• Follow store waste disposal procedures.
